Aba Power Limited Electric has announced a temporary power supply shortage within the Aba Ring-Fenced Area.
The management disclosed this in a statement released on Friday attributing the shortage to a disruption in gas supply to their primary power provider, Geometric Power Aba Limited (GPAL).
“We apologize for the current shortage of power supply within the Aba Ring-Fenced Area,” the statement read.
“This is due to a disruption in gas supply to our primary power provider, Geometric Power Aba Limited (GPAL), which has led to a temporary shutdown of turbine operations.”
The management assured customers that efforts are underway to resolve the issue and restore gas supply.
“We have received credible assurances that all efforts are underway to resolve the cause of the disruption, restore gas supply, and resume power generation from the plant as soon as possible.”
To minimize the impact on customers, Aba Power Limited has reverted to power import from the national grid.
“In the meantime, we have reverted to power import from the national grid to minimize the impact on our customers,” the statement added.
The management thanked customers for their patience and understanding during this period.
“We thank you for your patience and understanding during this period.”
