Abuja Pastor Unveils New Book, Says Victory Comes Through Discipline, Prayer

An Abuja-based pastor, Ademola Adebisi, has said that victory is not a matter of chance but the product of consistent discipline, spiritual growth and sustained prayer, as he unveiled his new book, “Journey to Victory Land”, in the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking at the book presentation in Abuja, Adebisi described victory as a deliberate outcome of faith-driven effort, rather than an accidental occurrence. He explained that the book is a faith-based work that employs automotive imagery to illustrate the Christian journey toward spiritual maturity and lasting victory.

According to him, Journey to Victory Land offers readers a reflective exploration of key spiritual principles, including vision, capacity building, strength and anointing, angelic escort, character formation, covenant relationships, perseverance, discernment and righteousness.

These themes, he noted, are presented through practical storytelling rooted in pastoral experience.

Adebisi said the inspiration for the book emerged from a prayer assignment he received on January 1, 2025, following his induction and industrial attachment as a pastor.

He was tasked by his reverend to lead a 45-minute prayer session on the church’s 2025 theme, “Resounding Victories,” an exercise that later evolved into the idea for the book.

“What began as a prayer assignment became a nudge to turn that spiritual exercise into a book,” he said. “The goal was to examine the believer’s journey from daily victories to greater victories, anchored in the truth of 1 Corinthians 15:57, which reminds us that victory is already given through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Using the metaphor of driving, Adebisi likened spiritual growth to the responsibility and maturity required before one is licensed to drive a car. He explained that arriving at what he termed “Victory Land” demands intentional preparation, discipline and what he described as “graduated, spirit-level maturity.”

Structured like a driver’s manual translated into vivid illustrations, the 13-chapter book is divided into six sections designed to be simple and accessible, even to young readers. Adebisi said the approach was deliberate, noting that clarity and relatability were central to the book’s message.

The opening section focuses on foundational concepts such as vision, spiritual capacity, strength and anointing, while subsequent sections address character, covenant relationships, perseverance, discernment and spiritual sensitivity. In the final chapters, the author examines sustaining victory, using metaphors such as vehicle lights, horns and documents to underscore visibility, voice and righteousness.

In his concluding message, Adebisi described the journey to victory as one that requires focus, discipline and obedience, culminating in a spiritual arrival where perseverance meets fulfillment.

He expressed confidence that readers would draw lessons on resilience, hope and personal transformation from the book.

The cleric also encouraged aspiring writers and believers to take bold steps toward fulfilling their purpose, urging them not to be deterred by fear or uncertainty. He stressed that true victory, whether spiritual or personal, is achieved through intentional living anchored in faith and prayer.
