“Actress Doris Ogala Hospitalized After Emotional Breakdown Over Pastor Okafor’s Engagement” — Claims Relationship Since 2017, Threatens To Disrupt Wedding

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has been rushed to the hospital following an emotional breakdown linked to her reported fallout with Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, also known as Liberation City.

A disturbing video circulating online over the weekend showed the actress bleeding and being taken to a hospital after she reportedly injured herself during a distressing episode triggered by news of the clergyman’s engagement to another woman.

The crisis stems from Ogala’s public allegations that Okafor, after a years-long romantic relationship, abandoned a promise to marry her and instead proposed to another woman.

In a video posted on her Instagram page on Saturday, December 13, 2025, the actress accused the pastor of ruining her life following the circulation of a video showing his engagement to another woman.

Ogala alleged that she had been in a relationship with Okafor since 2017 and claimed that the clergyman shared videos of her miscarriage, had her sex video, and shared explicit content of her without her consent.

“Someone should go and tell Chris Okafor that he won’t marry, it’s a lie. Who will you leave me for? Since this man slept with me, my life has not been the same. I lost my younger brother. Chris, no, this marriage will not work. After sharing my naked video, turning the miscarriage I had for you to abortion, who do you think you want to leave me for, Chris? No, Chris Okafor, it will not work,” she said.

The actress further stated that she had not been emotionally stable since the clergyman ended the relationship, a situation that worsened with the death of her brother.

In another emotional video posted to her Instagram page, Ogala detailed further grievances, alleging financial exploitation and harassment.

She claimed she used her finances to help Okafor and his associates secure a contract but was never fully repaid.

“You might wake up tomorrow, and I will not be in this world again. I know the state of mind I am in right now. Chris contacted me to help him and his friends. And what did he pay me back with?” she said.

She alleged that Okafor had her detained in Abuja and, in a separate incident, had her arrested and held for two days at the Owerri State CID just four days before her brother’s burial.

“He arrested me. He detained me in Abuja. He also arrested me four days before my brother’s burial. And kept me in CID in Owerri for two days. For nothing. I did nothing,” she said.

“Because his friend gave me money, and he took the money. And I started asking for the money. He paid me so much and got me arrested for defamation. Chris has done a lot of things to me. I am not stable. I am suicidal. I am saying this from the bottom of my heart.”

The actress vowed to disrupt Okafor’s church wedding, alleging that the clergyman had broken her heart and ruined her life.

She further claimed that Okafor pressured her to leave her marriage after promising to marry her.

“Be ready to kill me, Chris Okafor, because I will not let it happen. Even if you go abroad and come back, I will drag your wife. I will come to the church and hold your wife. Who will marry me now? After everything, Chris Okafor, after promising me marriage and disgracing me like this, turning my life upside down, you still want to marry? Since 2017, we’ve been dating,” she added.

Actor Digidi Dunhill, who shared the video of Ogala being rushed to the hospital and accompanied her, expressed alarm at the situation and appealed for help.

In the footage, he questioned her actions while calling on the clergyman to intervene, saying he was unsure of Okafor’s identity but believed his presence could help calm the situation.

The development followed the circulation of a video showing Pastor Okafor’s engagement ceremony, which reportedly triggered a strong reaction from the actress.

Speaking during his sermon on Sunday, a video of which later went viral on social media, Okafor asserted that no man would choose to settle down with an arrogant woman.

He also claimed that no man would marry a woman from a household without a good name or reputation.

“You are a young lady being arrogant, behaving and talking to people anyhow. Saying ‘I don’t respect anybody because I am not well.’ You are a young lady, unmarried, and you are talking like that. Which man will marry who’s not well? Which man wants to marry you when they know that you have slept with different men?” Okafor said during the sermon.

However, Ogala clarified that the viral clip of Okafor preaching about not marrying a promiscuous woman was not a current response to her allegations, but a 2023 sermon she witnessed in person while they were still dating.

“That video was made in 2023 when I was still dating Chris Okafor. That video is not referring to me. As a matter of fact, I was in the church when Chris made that video,” she said.

Okafor was previously married to Bessem Okafor, who, in 2014, accused him of physically assaulting her at their home in Magodo, Lagos.

His ex-wife, who left the marital home in 2012, alleged that she was assaulted during a visit to see her four children, who were in their father’s custody.

In 2019, Okafor told City People that he had not remarried since divorcing Bessem, explaining that he did not wish to settle down with a woman who could later become a threat to him.

Pastor Chris Okafor, popularly known as the “Generational Prophet,” has not publicly responded to Ogala’s specific allegations as of the time of this report.

The engagement announcement has continued to draw attention as the controversy unfolds, with many online calling for calm, proper investigation of the allegations, and support for the actress’s mental health.

The actress’s claims have generated widespread reactions online, with concerns raised about her emotional wellbeing and calls for professional mental health intervention.
