Amstel Malta has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons following their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zambia at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with special recognition for its brand ambassador, Asisat Oshoala, whose early goal secured the vital win.
Oshoala scored the decisive goal in the eighth minute after connecting with a well-worked assist. The Super Falcons then showed resilience to protect their lead despite playing with 10 women after defender Oluwatosin Demehin was sent off.
Reacting to the victory, Senior Brand Manager, Amstel Malta, Francis Obiajulu, praised the team’s determination and commended Oshoala for leading by example.
“We congratulate the Super Falcons on a deserved victory and are delighted to see our brand ambassador, Asisat Oshoala, score the winning goal. The team showed great character and determination, especially after going down to 10 players. It was a performance that reflected the resilience they have become known for.”
Mr Obiajulu said the result echoed the message behind Amstel Malta’s ‘Be Your Best’ campaign, which encourages Nigerians to continue believing in and supporting the Super Falcons.
“After the opening setback, we urged the team and Nigerians not to lose faith. This victory is a reminder that setbacks do not define champions. The players showed discipline, courage and a strong fighting spirit against a very good Zambian side, and we remain proud to support them.”
He also thanked Nigerians for standing by the team, noting that fans’ encouragement continues to inspire the players as the tournament progresses.
Amstel Malta said its ‘Be Your Best’ campaign will continue with its Predict and Win promotion and other fan engagement activities as the Super Falcons continue their WAFCON campaign in Morocco.
The Super Falcons now shift their focus to their final Group C match against Egypt, where another positive result could secure a place in the knockout stage and keep their title defence firmly on course.
