A former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Oliver Akubueze, Miri Ndigbo, has congratulated the newly harmonized executives of the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos State, led by Chief Chukwudi Chinye, describing their emergence as a new dawn for Ndigbo in the state.
In a congratulatory message made available to journalists on Sunday, September 6, 2026, Chief Akubueze, who is also known as Miri Ndigbo, specifically extended his goodwill to the Deputy President of the community, High Chief AndyMoore, who also holds the traditional title of Onowu Ndigbo.
“I want to use this medium to extend congratulations to the newly harmonized executives of Igbo Speaking Community Lagos State, especially Onowu Ndigbo, High Chief AndyMoore, for his new position as the Deputy President of Igbo Speaking Community Lagos State. The cap actually fits him 100%,” Chief Akubueze said.
The elder statesman noted that High Chief AndyMoore has consistently demonstrated commitment to the welfare and unity of Ndigbo in Lagos over the years. According to him, the new role is a recognition of his service, experience, and dedication to community development.
Chief Akubueze urged the new Deputy President to use his office to foster unity and collaboration among all leaders and stakeholders of the Igbo community in Lagos.
He specifically called on High Chief AndyMoore to work closely with the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos President, High Chief Leonard Okafor, Oba Ojoto, and members of his executive council for the overall interest of Ndigbo in the state.
“Please do everything possible to use your new position and office to work with High Chief Leonard Okafor, Oba Ojoto, and his executives for the interest of Ndigbo,” he stated.
The former Ohanaeze leader emphasized that unity among the leadership is critical at this time when Ndigbo in Lagos are facing economic, social, and political challenges. He said a united front will help the community engage better with the Lagos State Government and other stakeholders.
The Igbo Speaking Community Lagos recently inaugurated a new 17-member harmonized executive council led by Chief Chukwudi Gift Chinye as President General, following a General Assembly resolution.
Community observers say the new leadership is expected to focus on reconciliation, youth empowerment, and strengthening ties with the Council of Ndieze across the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs of Lagos State.
Chief Akubueze expressed optimism that with experienced leaders like High Chief AndyMoore and High Chief Leonard Okafor at the helm, the community will record progress and speak with one voice.
He prayed for wisdom, good health, and a successful tenure for the new executives, urging all Ndigbo in Lagos to support the new leadership for the progress of the community.
