Comrade Dauda Delivers Goodwill Message At Lions Club Mental Health & Well-being ColloquiumÂ

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Friday, 10th October, 2025, delivered a goodwill message at the Lions Club Mental Health and Well-being Colloquium held at the prestigious Oranmiyan Hall, Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.Â

In his remarks, the Ikeja Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda, commended the Lions Club for its consistent commitment to humanitarian service and its proactive efforts in promoting mental health awareness; a subject he described as “crucial to community stability, productivity, and family life”.

He emphasized that mental well-being is an integral part of the I.K.E.J.A Agenda, particularly under its Health and Community Development pillar. He further hinted that the administration will soon roll out a comprehensive health outreach tagged “Jigi AKOD�, aimed at improving access to eye care and general health screening for residents.

The Ikeja Council Boss also assured the Lions Club of Ikeja of the Council’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives that promote public health and community welfare, noting that partnerships with credible organizations like the Lions Club will amplify the reach and impact of local government programmes.

In recognition of his immense contribution to the success of the event and his unwavering support for community health initiatives, the Lions Club International presented an Appreciation Award to Comrade Dauda.

The colloquium featured insightful discussions from mental health experts, community leaders, and social advocates, all focusing on the importance of emotional wellness and the need to destigmatize mental health challenges.
