An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has validated the 2025 Elective Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which held in Ibadan on November 15, 2025.
Justice Ladiran Akintola of Court 5 delivered the judgment on Friday shortly after ruling on an application for joinder.
In the judgment, the court granted all 13 reliefs put before the court by the Claimant, Folahan Malomo Adelabi, through his counsel, Musbau Adetunmbi, SAN.
The judgment validates the emergence of the Dr Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee that emerged at the Convention.
The court also dismissed an application for stay of proceedings filed by Austin Nwachukwu and others.
This comes two days after the same court, on Wednesday, dismissed a motion seeking joinder filed by Nwachukwu and two other PDP chieftains in connection with the party’s 2025 Elective Convention.
Justice Akintola had ruled that the joinder application “lacks merit” because the PDP had already been joined as a defendant in the ongoing suit, making it unnecessary to add individual members as interested parties.
