Dayo Ekong, has been elected as the Deputy Chairman (South West) for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Ekong’s emergence as a party leader took place at the NDC’s National Convention which took place on Saturday, May 9.
Speaking shortly after the event, Ekong said it is a great honour for her to serve in the NDC.
She also described the just-concluded party’s National convention as the best and one of its kind.
“I am delighted to have led a strong and coordinated South West and Lagos delegation to the NDC National Convention in Abuja, where party stakeholders gathered to discuss the future of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections,” Ekong said.
At the convention, she also joined other party leaders in welcoming dignitaries, stakeholders, lawmakers, youth groups, and supporters from across the country to the convention.
According to her, the South West delegation recorded one of the convention’s most visible and organised representations.
She also said the delegation actively participated in strategic meetings, leadership consultations, and other convention activities.
Ekong said, “Supporters from across the region also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the party’s structure and unity.”
