The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC), weekend, announced scheduled power outages in some parts of Enugu and Anambra states.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Group Head, Corporate Communications of EEDC, Mr Emeka Ezeh.
According to him, the outage would last for two days, beginning Sunday, August 31, 2025, through Monday, September 1, 2025, from 9:00am to 6:00pm daily.
He said the outage was to allow the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) maintenance crew to replace faulty overhead stack porcelain insulators at its 330kV switch yard in Awada, Anambra State.
He stated that, “Consequently, electricity supplies to customers in the affected areas will be interrupted during the maintenance period.
“We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appeal for our customers’ understanding, as the exercise is aimed at improving and enhancing the quality of service.”
