Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspected cultists and armed robbers during a coordinated raid in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, the operation was carried out by the Command’s Bullock Tactical Team at about 5:30 a.m. on October 15, following credible intelligence on criminal activities in the area.
The suspects, identified as Fadiya Ayodele (27), Lawal Rasheed (28), Akerele Demilare (27), Alimi Victor (23), Okiki Alufoge (25), Nurudeen Dolapo (25), Agboola Samuel (25), and Ayolade Victor (25), were reportedly planning violent operations before their arrest.
“Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspected cultists and armed robbers during a targeted raid in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
“Acting on credible intelligence, on 15th October, 2025, the Bullock Tactical Team stormed a criminal hideout at approximately 0530 hours. Eight (8) suspects, who were allegedly planning nefarious activities, were apprehended,” the statement read.
Recovered items from the hideout include a Nigerian military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, charms, and counterfeit $100 bills amounting to $3,000.
During preliminary interrogation, Fadiya Ayodele allegedly confessed to being the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the Odogunyan axis and revealed that he had handed over a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, who is currently at large.
Police say efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect and recover the weapon.
The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for their professionalism and quick response.
He reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to making the state safe and secure for the residents.
