FCID Annex Arrests 3 Suspected Telecom Vandals, Recovers Firearm, Solar Batteries, 4 Vehicles In Ayobo Raid

Operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, have arrested three suspected members of a criminal syndicate specializing in the vandalism and theft of telecommunication infrastructure in Ayobo, Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State.
This was disclosed by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Simeon Akpanudom, in charge of FCID Annex, Lagos, while reeling out the Command’s score card covering March 30 to June 25, 2026.
The report highlighted infrastructure upgrades, welfare measures for officers, expanded stakeholder collaboration, investigation statistics, and major operational successes as was contained in a press statement issued by the Command and obtained by http://newsngr.com.
According to the FCID Annex, the operation was carried out on June 19, 2026 at about 02:00hrs following credible intelligence on the activities of the syndicate.
The suspects arrested were Ezekiel Omoloye, 46 years, Olaoluwa Shuwunmi, 44 years, and Olaleye Kehinde, 41 years.
Items recovered during the raid included one locally made pistol, one live cartridge, one Deep Sea electronic memory device, four Riyar solar batteries, six solar modules, one cable cutter, one large wrench, one large iron cutter, and two bundles of ropes.
Vehicles also recovered were one tricycle with registration number FST 552 QQ, one Bajaj tricycle with registration number KNN 528 Ogun State, one ash-coloured Toyota Camry with registration number LSD 576 CL, and one Toyota Sienna Bus with registration number LSS 599 JN.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the recovered items were employed in the vandalism of telecommunication installations and other critical infrastructure across Lagos State.
FCID Annex said efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate, while the suspects will be charged to court on relevant charges.
