The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Sunday said it arrested nine suspected criminals linked to armed robbery, vehicle theft, and drug trafficking in recent coordinated operations across Abuja.
The raids were carried out by the police scorpion squad, alongside operatives of the Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mabushi Divisions between October 9 and 18, 2025.
They led to multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen vehicles and dangerous weapons.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the arrested suspects include Manaseh Emmanuel (36), Dogora Ibrahim (21), and Ibrahim Idamusa (40)—alleged members of an armed robbery gang led by Ibrahim Yakubu, also known as Ycome, who is currently remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
Officers from the Life Camp Division also arrested Umar Abubakar, Iliyasu Ibrahim, Usman Ibrahim, and Alkasim Abubakar for alleged theft.
Preliminary investigations linked the group to a ten-man armed robbery syndicate behind several violent robberies in Kubwa, Life Camp, and Mpape districts.
In a related operation, the Mabushi Police Division apprehended Bello Mohd Tambuwal for allegedly stealing a 2019 Toyota Corolla, while Paul Onogwu was intercepted with 15 bags of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.
Police recovered several exhibits from the operations, including a cutlass, a sword, a jackknife, a Toyota Land Cruiser reportedly stolen during a robbery, a black Toyota Corolla (2019 model, Chassis No: JTNK4RBE1K3054902), a Toyota Camry (Registration No: KRD 391 JF), and 15 bags of suspected cannabis.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dantawaye Miller, commended the swift coordination among divisions and urged officers to sustain the momentum. He said,
“All Divisional Police Officers must not relent, but intensify efforts and sustain the onslaught against criminals across the FCT.”
Miller reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to dismantling all criminal networks within the territory, adding that “The Command will continue to hit hard on criminal elements until every hideout is uncovered and the Federal Capital Territory is completely rid of crime and insecurity.”
He appealed to residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to the police through the following emergency numbers: 08061581938, 08032003913, and the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) line 08107314192.
