The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 517 personnel and 16 operational vehicles to strategic locations across Zamfara State in a bid to ensure a hitch-free Eid al-Kabir celebration across the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Gusau by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Isah Aliyu.
According to the statement, the personnel and logistics have been strategically stationed to manage traffic, enforce regulations, and provide swift emergency responses during the festive period.
Aliyu noted that key flashpoints have been identified and manned for efficient traffic regulation and rescue services, including obstruction clearance and general traffic enforcement.
“The command also provided three ambulances on standby to ensure prompt rescue of victims of road crashes,” he said.
Sector Commander Aliyu Ma’aji also cautioned motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules and avoid dangerous behaviours that could lead to accidents, such as excessive speeding, overloading, reckless driving, and the use of mobile phones while behind the wheel.
In his goodwill message, Ma’aji wished the people of Zamfara a joyous and peaceful Sallah celebration and reminded road users that only the living can truly celebrate.
“Drive with caution, because only the living celebrate,” he advised.
