Fubara Reshuffles Cabinet

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle in the State Executive Council, redeploying Barrister Christopher Green as the new Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

Barrister Green, who until the latest development served as Commissioner for Sports, will now head the Ministry of Justice, a strategic arm of government responsible for legal advisory services, prosecution of criminal cases, and the defense of government policies and actions.

The redeployment was disclosed in an official statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr. Honour Sirawoo.

According to the statement, the decision takes immediate effect.

In a dual capacity arrangement, Barrister Green will also continue to coordinate the activities of the Ministry of Sports pending the appointment of a substantive commissioner to take full charge of the ministry.

The move is intended to ensure uninterrupted administration and continuity in the execution of ongoing sports development programmes across the state.
Government sources explained that the reshuffle was approved at the last State Executive Council meeting for the year 2025, signaling Governor Fubara’s resolve to fine-tune governance structures and strategically deploy human resources to areas where their expertise is most needed.
