Ikeja Local Government, in collaboration with Woyinbomi Enterprise, on Thursday, 16th July 2026, commenced a two-day training workshop for members of staff on Measuring Workers’ Productivity.
The workshop, which continues till Friday, 17th July 2026, was organised to equip staff with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to enhance workplace productivity and improve service delivery.
The Director Admin. and Human Resources, Comrade Jubril Olusegun Aliu, who hosted the programme, welcomed participants and expressed his profound appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, for his unwavering support, encouragement, and commitment to staff welfare and capacity development initiatives within the Local Government.
Speaking during the workshop, Professor Adedeji Oyenuga highlighted the importance of connecting knowledge with practical skills in today’s professional environment. He introduced the LSSW framework (Learn Input, Structured Practice, Supervisor Feedback, and Workplace Performance) as a model for translating knowledge into measurable productivity. He emphasised that modern professionals must embrace continuous and relevant upskilling through mentoring, peer learning, active reflection, workshops, and online courses.
Professor Oyenuga further stressed the importance of safeguarding institutional memory against staff turnover through proper documentation, mentoring, practice, and periodic review. He also outlined the structural pillars of office productivity, which include organisational goals, time management, digital literacy, clear communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Speaking on organisational change, Professor Olabisi Yusuff enlightened participants on the stages of change, noting that individuals often experience shock or denial, anger or resistance, before eventually attaining acceptance and commitment. She encouraged staff members to embrace change as an opportunity for growth and improved organisational performance.
Delivering his lecture on productivity, Professor Bolawale Odunike defined productivity as the measure of efficiency involved in transforming inputs into outputs. He encouraged participants to continually improve their performance and contribute meaningfully to the attainment of organisational objectives.
The Executive Chairman, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, reiterated his administration’s commitment to staff development and capacity building. He encouraged members of staff to actively participate in the workshop and apply the knowledge gained to improve workplace efficiency and service delivery. He further reaffirmed his administration’s keen interest in initiatives that promote professional growth and enhance productivity among staff members while declaring the workshop open.
The workshop provided an interactive platform for learning, professional development, and the exchange of ideas aimed at improving workplace performance across departments within Ikeja Local Government.

The first vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Oshineye Opeyemi Taiwo, Chief Education Officer, who expressed appreciation to the organisers, guest speakers, and participants for the insightful and impactful sessions. She encouraged members of staff to apply the knowledge gained towards improved productivity and effective service delivery.
The final vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Abiola Lukman Olanrewaju of the Finance Department, who further appreciated the guest speakers, organisers, and participants for contributing to the success of the workshop and encouraged staff members to maximise the benefits of the training.
The two-day workshop underscores Ikeja Local Government’s commitment to building a competent, efficient, and productive workforce through continuous learning and capacity development.
