JUST IN: WAEC Releases 2026 CBT Results, Candidates to Check Scores Within Hours

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the 2026 Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for private candidates.

The announcement was made on Friday, bringing relief to thousands of candidates who participated in the first series of the examination.

In a brief update shared on its official X handle, the examination body confirmed that candidates can begin to check their results within a short period.

The council stated that access to results will be enabled within 12 hours of the announcement, allowing candidates to quickly verify their performance.

WAEC explained that the swift release of the results is part of its ongoing efforts to improve efficiency.

The council noted that the adoption of computer-based testing has significantly reduced delays traditionally associated with examination processing and result compilation.

“The result of CB-WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2026–First Series, has been released. Candidates can access their results within the next 12 hours. Our thanks to all stakeholders for cooperating with us to achieve this feat,” the statement said.

The body also commended stakeholders, including examination officials and partners, for their roles in ensuring a smooth exercise. It added that collaboration and improved technology contributed to the successful conduct of the exams.

Candidates are advised to check their results through the official WAEC portal using their registration details.

However, the council did not report any major issues during the conduct of the examination, signaling a more stable process compared to previous years.
