Mbah Reaffirms Support For Preservation Of Traditional Institutions

Gov Peter Mbah of Enugu State weekend said his administration would continue to preserve traditional institutions.

Mbah stated this when he joined the people of Aji-Essodo Ancient Kingdom in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area during the Ofala Festival of their traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Simeon Osisi Itodo. The governor said the preservation became necessary to enhance the cultural heritage of various communities of the state.

In his words, “Our administration’s support for traditional institutions and the promotion of our cultural heritage is intentional. They preserve identity, transmit values, promote peace, and unlock opportunities in tourism, creative enterprise, and local economies.”

He commended HRM Igwe Itodo for his exemplary leadership, and urged him not to relent in ensuring peace in his community and Igboeze North as a whole.

“Igwe Itodo embodies selfless leadership, moral authority, and a deep commitment to peace, unity, and service beyond the confines of his domain. His wisdom and counsel have continued to strengthen governance, foster community cohesion, and support development across Enugu State, reaffirming the enduring relevance of traditional institutions in our modern governance architecture,” the governor aww by AAAsaid

In another development, Gov Mbah has applauded the stewardship of the iqmmediate past Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla (retrd).

He made the commendation when he visited Ogalla at his Umuopu country home in Igbo-Eze North LGA. He stated that Admiral Ogalla was an example of disciplined leadership, professionalism, and patriotic service to Nigeria.

“His distinguished career in the Nigerian Navy, culminating in his service as Chief of the Naval Staff, reflects a lifetime devoted to national security, institutional excellence, and duty to country. Enugu State is deeply proud of his service and the values he represents,” Gov Mbah said.

He pledged that his administration would continue “to build a New Enugu anchored on service excellence, and shared progress,” adding that, “we will always celebrate sons and daughters of the state whose lives inspire confidence, patriotism, and hope”.
