The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed that missing NYSC member and lawyer, Linda Ameh, has been found in Abuja after she disappeared for four days.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said the victim personally reported to the Maitama Police Station and is currently assisting investigators.
“The FCT Police Command wishes to inform the public that Ms. Linda Ameh, the legal practitioner earlier reported missing on 6th May 2026, has been found and personally reported to the Maitama Police Station to provide details of the incident,” the statement read.
According to the police, investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for her disappearance.
“The Command further states that investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the crime, while Ms. Ameh is assisting the Police with useful information to aid ongoing investigative efforts and ensure the perpetrators are apprehended,” Adeh added.
Reports indicated that the abductors had earlier contacted her family and demanded a ₦20 million ransom for her release, although it was not immediately clear whether any payment was made.
The victim, also identified in earlier reports as Eunice Ameh, was said to have disappeared on Tuesday, May 6, shortly after closing from work at Blades and Butchers Ltd in Maitama around 5:40 p.m.
She had reportedly recently resumed work as a sales manager and was close to completing her NYSC service, including her final Community Development Service activities.
Family members said she was on her way to Life Camp when her phone became unreachable, raising concerns over her safety.
The disappearance was immediately reported to the Maitama Police Station and the National Youth Service Corps.
