The state chairman of JUSUN, Mas’ud Ubangari, disclosed this to journalists after the union’s congress meeting in Lafia
The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Nasarawa State has issued a seven-day ultimatum to the state government to meet its demands or face industrial action.
Mr Ubangari said the fresh ultimatum followed the expiration of a 21-day notice issued to the state government.
He expressed disappointment over what he described as the government’s failure to take concrete action on the report of the committee constituted by the state chief judge to address the union’s grievances.
The chairman cautioned that the union would have no option but to down tools if the government failed to act within the next seven days.
Among the union’s demands is the immediate implementation of the 40 per cent Peculiar Allowance approved by the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
The union is also demanding financial autonomy for the judiciary, a 58.1 per cent salary increase, as well as the implementation of pending conversions and outstanding promotions, among other demands.
