The Nigerian Navy has destroyed an illegal refinery site with seven dugout pits and numerous sacks laden with large amounts of stolen crude oil in a community in Delta State.
The Nigerian Navy ship, DELTA, identified the site on Saturday at Christian Village, in Obodo Omadino Community, Warri South-West Local Government Area of the State.
Photos shared by the Navy on Sunday revealed the slacks discovered in the village.
The recent operation followed the May 22 discovery in the same village, where troops destroyed two refining ovens, one drum, several dugout pits and numerous sacks laden with large amounts of stolen Crude oil.
Meanwhile, troops of Forward Operating Base IBAKA apprehended two suspected Crude Oil thieves conveying a wooden boat containing drums laden with illegally refined PMS en route to the Republic of Cameroon.
The Navy revealed on Sunday that the suspects, although arrested on Friday, were handed over to the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps in Akwa Ibom State on Saturday.
