NDLEA Arrests Pretty Mike, 100 Others In Drug Raid

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested over 120 suspects in coordinated raids, including popular Lagos socialite, Mike Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike.

On Sunday, Mr Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, said Pretty Mike was arrested alongside other partygoers when NDLEA operatives stormed Proxy Night Club, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025.

The officers had disrupted an ongoing alleged drug party following intelligence reports and arrested the club owner and several guests while recovering cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas.

“NDLEA operatives infiltrated Proxy Night Club in Victoria Island during a drug party that started at 11 p.m. on October 25 and disrupted it by 3 a.m. on October 26. Over 100 suspects, including Pretty Mike, were arrested, and several cartons of Loud and laughing gas were seized from the club and its store” Babafemi said.

During other raids, the agency recovered 450,000 pills of narcotics and thousands of tablets and capsules, (tramadol and exol-5), 70 parcels of cocaine (3.60kg), 21,950 capsules of tramadol, 234.5 kilograms of skunk, and 121.3 litres of skuchies, among others.

The drugs were intercepted across Lagos, Enugu, Abia, Kwara, Taraba, Nasarawa, Kogi, Ondo, Anambra, Kaduna, Seme, and Zamfara States, between October 10 and October 25, targeting couriers, dealers, and traffickers.

NDLEA noted that traffickers adopted concealment and commercial packaging as key smuggling models—hiding drugs in body cream containers, coffee tea packs, water heaters, cocoa butter tubs, and trucks loaded with building materials to evade detection.

NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, uncovered 70 parcels of cocaine weighing 3.60kg concealed inside walls of cocoa butter formula body cream containers heading to London on an Air Peace flight on October 14.

A cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, was arrested, leading to further arrests of Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, CEO of Mutiu Adebiyi & Co travel agency.

A female distributor, Oyonumoh Effiong, described as a major supplier of Canadian and California Loud, was arrested during a raid on her Lekki home, where 500 grams of cannabis strains were recovered on October 17.

Babafemi said Effiong reportedly supplied customers in Lekki, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Ajah, and VGC.

In Zamfara, officers on patrol along the Gummi-Anka road arrested Abubakar Ibrahim, 30, with an AK-47 rifle and 1,746 rounds of ammunition intended for delivery to Bagega forest.

The suspect and arms were handed to the appropriate security agencies for investigation on Monday, October 20, 2025.

In Kwara, operatives arrested Umar Abubakar, 40, at Bode Saadu, Morro LGA, with 21,950 capsules of tramadol 250mg hidden in a 100-litre water heater on October 21.

Same day in Taraba, NDLEA operatives at Dan-Anacha checkpoint arrested Auwal Musa, 26, and Salihu Bala, 22, transporting 450,000 pills of tramadol and exol-5 from Onitsha (Anambra) to Mubi (Adamawa) in a truck loaded with building materials.

At the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu on October 22, officers intercepted 103.59 grams of methamphetamine concealed in a Diabetas Herbs coffee tea pack bound for the Philippines and arrested Lemena Mark, a 35-year-old Lesotho national.

In Abia, NDLEA arrested 75-year-old Echendu Onuoka with 4.7kg of skunk and 60-year-old Aukana John with 225 grams in Obingwa LGA.

While in Nasarawa, Abubakar Muhammad, 55, was arrested in Keffi with 128kg of skunk.

At the Seme border, Jacob Ojugbele was caught with 55kg of skunk at Ashipa, Badagry, while Amusa Oluwabukola was nabbed with 121.3 litres of skuchies at Itoga, Badagry.

Babafemi noted that operatives raided the home of Ogunyabo Adenigbigbe at Solomade Estate, Ikorodu on October 23, and, recovered 275 litres of skuchies, a psychoactive mixture made from black currant drink, cannabis, and opioids.

On October 24, the arrest cut across Kogi, Ondo, and Kaduna states.

Details revealed that on the Okene-Lokoja highway, NDLEA officers seized 162.2kg of skunk from a truck.

In Ondo, 150kg of the same substance was recovered during a raid at Lot Camp, Ikun Akoko.

In Kaduna, Bashir Mohammad (50) and Samini Ahmed Tijjani (35) were arrested with 234.5kg of skunk in Lere LGA, while Isah Usman (50) and Salvation Okoler (18) were caught along the Abuja-Kaduna highway with 8,600 pills of tramadol 225mg and Rohypnol.

NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd.), commended the MMIA, AIIA, Lagos, Kwara, Abia, Nasarawa, Kogi, Ondo, Anambra, Taraba, Kaduna, Seme, and Zamfara Commands for their successful operations, urging continued efforts toward a balanced, nationwide drug control campaign.
