Nwifuru Reshuffles Cabinet, Swears In Two New Commissioners

Today, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, swore in two new commissioners and a special assistant during the State Executive Council meeting as part of efforts to strengthen his administration and improve service delivery.

The newly inaugurated officials are Prof. Amari Omaka (SAN), who was appointed Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hon. Sylvester Nwenegwu Nwite as Commissioner for Environment, and Hon. Njoku Onyekachi Felix as Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation.

Speaking during the meeting, the governor urged the appointees to see their appointments as a call to selfless service and to remain committed to delivering on the administration’s agenda under the Peoples Charter of Needs.

The Executive Council also approved a cabinet reshuffle aimed at improving efficiency across key ministries.

Under the changes, Hon. Chidi Onyia was moved from the Ministry of Solid Minerals to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, while Dr. Ngozi Obichukwu was redeployed from the Ministry of Aviation to the Ministry of Special Projects.

Prof. Nwogo Obasi Ajuka was transferred from the Ministry of Market Development to the Ministry of Skill Acquisition and Job Creation, while Hon. Okwu Oko Udu moved to the Ministry of Market Development.

Also affected by the reshuffle are Hon. Magnus C. Nkah, who now heads the Ministry of Solid Minerals after leaving Water Resources; Hon. Richard Ugo Idike, who moved to the Ministry of Capital City Development; Chief Sunday Elechi Inyima, who was redeployed to the Ministry of Project Monitoring; and Hon. Victor Chukwu, who was assigned to the Ministry of Water Resources.

The governor also commended members of the State Executive Council and the people of Ebonyi State for what he described as their endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying it reflected the state’s support for the Federal Government’s development agenda.

He called on public office holders to remain focused on their responsibilities and continue working towards delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Ebonyi State.
