A 29-year-old man, Aminu Sheu, was on Tuesday brought before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly receiving stolen aluminium windows.
Sheu, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of receiving a stolen item.
The Prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 24, at about 9.30 p.m. at Opaleye Street, Sona Brewery, Ijako, Ota.
Adaraloye alleged that the defendant received stolen aluminium windows from one Abubakar Abdullahi, knowing fully well that the goods were stolen.
He said that the aluminium windows belong to one Amisu Anike.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 427 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
Fadairo said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to the Ogun government.
The case was adjourned until Aug. 29 for further hearing.
