Police Arrest Delta Content Creator Over Alleged Rape, Death Of 20-Year-Old

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a popular content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, over the alleged rape of a 20-year-old woman who later died while receiving treatment in hospital.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, announced the arrest in a statement shared on his X account on Wednesday.

According to the police, the 40-year-old suspect allegedly invited the woman to Delta State under the guise of mentoring her in content creation before luring her to a hotel in Asaba, where he allegedly raped her.

Investigators said the victim later recorded a video in which she recounted her ordeal before allegedly ingesting a poisonous substance.

She was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later died.

The police said Ogbonna is in custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
