Police Arrest Motorcycle Snatcher, Recover Arms In Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command, Monday, arrested two alleged armed robbery suspects over a snatched motorcycle.

This was contained in a release by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe.

Ndukwe stated that, “On 1st October 2025, police operatives attached to Nenwe and Owelle-Court Divisions, working with members of the Neighbourhood Watch and Forest Guards, arrested one Okonkwo Chukwuebuka, aged 27, for armed robbery, while his cohort escaped.”

Ndukwe stated that preliminary investigations revealed that on 30th September 2025, the suspect and his fleeing accomplice boarded a commercial motorcycle in Nenwe community, Aninri LGA, and along the way robbed the rider at gunpoint.

“They were later intercepted while attempting to escape upon sighting security operatives. One cut-to-size gun and the snatched motorcycle were recovered from the suspect.”

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bitrus Giwa, commended the dedication and synergy exhibited by the police operatives and other security stakeholders in the operations.

He urged residents of the state “to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and continue to support the police with credible information to rid Enugu State of criminal elements”.
