The Lagos State Police Command has invited the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, in connection with allegations of multiple rape, other sexual offences, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.
In a statement issued on Sunday night, the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said the cleric has been directed to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, on Monday, by 10:00 a.m., to answer questions relating to the allegations.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID to conduct a thorough investigation into the multiple criminal allegations against Okafor.
The police disclosed that the pastor was duly served with an invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to cooperate fully with investigators as the probe into the alleged capital offences and other serious crimes continues.
Jimoh also directed immediate and full security coverage for alleged victims, encouraging them to come forward and report their cases at the SCID, Panti, where investigations have already commenced.
The Command assured members of the public that the identities of all victims and witnesses would be kept strictly confidential and adequately protected.
Persons who may have fallen victim to the alleged acts, as well as individuals with credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation, were urged to report to the SCID directly or through the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command.
The Commissioner of Police reiterated the Command’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, and impartiality in handling the investigation, stressing that no individual is above the law.
“The Pastor has been duly served with an invitation letter through his legal representative and is expected to cooperate fully with the Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, in the ongoing investigation into the allegations of capital offences and other serious crimes against him,” the statement said.
“The Lagos State Police Command is committed to maintaining law and order, public peace, safety, and ensuring that all allegations of criminal acts against anyone, no matter how highly placed or lowly placed, are discreetly investigated according to law, regardless of the status of the individuals involved, and no sentiment will be allowed to prevail. Justice must prevail in the whole episode.”
The invitation and investigation come amid allegations that surfaced on social media against Okafor in December 2025.
One of the most high-profile allegations was made by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who, in a series of Instagram videos posted on December 14, claimed she was involved in a long-term sexual relationship with the pastor.
She alleged that the relationship began in 2017 and lasted nine years, accusing him of breaking promises of marriage, sharing explicit content, and contributing to the breakdown of her previous marriage.
