Police Recover Stolen Truck From Edo State In Enugu

Police operatives serving in the Enugu State Command, attached to Ozalla Division and the Distress Response Squad (DRS), Monday, recovered a MAN Diesel truck that was stolen in Benin, Edo State.

A release by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, stated that the operatives intercepted the truck at about 6:30am after getting an intelligence report that it was stolen around 12am today, 27th October 2025 from where it was parked in Benin City.

He stated that, “The recovery, made at Ozalla in Nkanu West Local Government Area along the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway, followed the operatives’ swift response to distress information from the Command’s Control Room that the stolen vehicle was heading towards the expressway.”

Ndukwe explained that on sighting the operatives, the hoodlums abandoned the truck and fled into the bush.

He added that, “The operatives are on the trail of the fleeing interstate criminal suspects, while the recovered vehicle has been secured for further investigative actions.”

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bitrus Giwa, has commended the operatives for their swift and coordinated response.

He reaffirming the Command’s commitment to proactive policing, and urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report security-related information or criminal situations to the nearest police station.
