Remi Tinubu Seeks Support For Teachers Amid Global Shortfall

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called for urgent attention to address the global shortage of teachers, describing educators as “true heroes” who play a pivotal role in shaping minds and guiding generations.

In her message marking World Teachers’ Day 2025, celebrated on October 5, Tinubu emphasised the need to empower teachers, invest in their professional growth and inspire more individuals to join the teaching profession.

She noted that the theme of this year’s celebration, “Focusing on the Global Teacher Shortage”, underscores the pressing challenge facing the world.

As a lifelong teacher herself, Tinubu expressed deep respect for the profession and paid tribute to educators across Nigeria and globally for their invaluable contributions to nation-building and humanity’s future.

“The shortage of teachers is a challenge we must confront with urgency, by empowering educators, investing in their growth, and inspiring more to join this noble profession,” she stated.

Tinubu saluted teachers worldwide, acknowledging their critical role in shaping the moral and intellectual foundation of society.

“Teachers are true heroes, shaping minds, nurturing dreams, and guiding generations. As a lifelong teacher myself, I salute you all on this Special Day. Happy World Teachers Day 2025,” she said.
