Several communities in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State have been cut off
Several communities in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State have been cut off following the collapse of the Zagah–Suntai road, residents have said.
Residents said the development has disrupted the movement of people and goods and limited access to essential services, including healthcare, education and markets.
Community leaders had reportedly appealed to the state government about three weeks ago to intervene after the road first showed signs of failure.
The affected communities have renewed their calls for urgent government action to restore access and prevent further hardship.
The collapse underscores the challenges posed by poor road infrastructure in many rural parts of Taraba State, where residents depend on a limited network of roads for transportation, trade and access to public services.
Efforts to obtain official comments from relevant authorities were not immediately successful as of the time of filing this report.
