Sanwo-Olu Denies Rift With Ogun Gov Abiodun

The Lagos State Government has denied reports suggesting a rift between Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun, describing such claims as false.

In a statement made available to NewsNGR on Thursday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Gbenga Akosile, the government stated that the reports circulating on some online media platforms and blogs do not accurately reflect the true relationship between the two governors.

According to the statement, Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun enjoy a cordial and brotherly relationship, contrary to insinuations of discord.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Governor Sanwo-Olu enjoy a very cordial brotherly relationship,” the statement said.

Akosile explained that the two governors meet regularly and communicate frequently on matters of mutual interest, particularly issues relating to the development of Lagos and Ogun states.

He added that their close collaboration is driven by the fact that both states share common boundaries and are bound by socio-cultural ties.

The Lagos State Government warned those spreading what it described as fake news aimed at creating discord between the two leaders to desist, stressing that both governors are united by a shared vision to improve the lives of their people.

“We, therefore would like to advise those seeking to plant a seed of discord between the two leaders with fake news to desist forthwith as both Prince Dapo Abiodun and Mr. Sanwo-Olu are bound by common vision to make life more abundant for their respective people,” the statement added.
