Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have foiled an attempted intrusion into the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Zagazola Makama reported that the incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday, when troops of Sector 6, working with other security personnel stationed at the institute, detected the movement of suspected intruders around the facility.
The security team immediately responded, forcing the suspects to flee into nearby bushes before they could gain access to the institute.
A search operation was launched in the surrounding area, but the suspects escaped before security operatives could apprehend them.
Following the incident, security has been reinforced around the institute, with surveillance and patrols intensified to prevent any further breach.
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible, while the area remains under close security monitoring.
