The Senate will screen all the new military chiefs appointed by President Bola Tinubu on Friday.
This followed the transmission of a letter by President Tinubu to the Senate, seeking the confirmation of the appointees.
After reading Tinubu’s letter at plenary on Tuesday, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, urged other senators to be ready to screen and confirm the military chiefs on Wednesday.
President Tinubu on Friday made changes in the hierarchy of the Service Chiefs, in what he said was in furtherance of the efforts of the Federal Government to strengthen the national security architecture.
The President appointed General Olufemi Oluyede to replace General Christopher Musa as the new Chief of Defence Staff.
The new Chief of Army Staff is Major-General Waidi Shaibu, while Air Vice Marshall Sunday Aneke was appointed Chief of Air Staff.
The president appointed Rear Admiral Idi Abbas as the new Chief of Naval Staff, while retaining Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye as Chief of Defence Intelligence.
