Kashim Shettima, the vice president is scheduled to formally receive governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State into the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.
Tukur Maikatako, the state APC Chairman said Shettima would lead the national leadership of the party for the occasion in Gusau, the state capital.
He described the visit as a demonstration of APC’s commitment to unity and inclusiveness in Zamfara.
According to him, “this visit is an opportunity to welcome back a former APC member who has returned to the fold. Our goal is to consolidate the party’s strength in Zamfara and ensure that all members work together for the progress of the state and Nigeria.
He emphasised the need for party members to set aside factional differences and embrace collective goals, noting that a united APC would enhance its performance in the 2027 polls.

“Governor Lawal’s return highlights that APC remains a party that provides a home for those committed to good governance and development.
“I urge all our esteemed members across the 147 wards of the 14 local government areas to come out en masse on Tuesday to honour the presidential visit, which is meant to strengthen and boost the popularity of the APC ahead of the 2027 elections,” Maikatako added.
He reiterated that the APC’s focus remains on shared objectives, including the prosperity of Zamfara State and the advancement of Nigeria, urging members to actively engage their communities to promote unity and growth within the party.
