In countries like the United States, experienced legislators are often re-elected due to their expertise. Let’s follow suit and give Honourable Jubril Abdul Kareem the chance to continue serving Agege Constituency 02. These are the words of stakeholders in Agege O2 Constituency in Lagos as they rally support for the re-election bid of Honourable Jubril Abdul Kareem during a press conference organised in the Agege area of Lagos State on Thursday.
Leading the stakeholders to the press conference held at the Human Rights Centre along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, the leadership of the Centre for Democracy and CDJ say in one voice that “we’re here to say loud and clear: it’s time for continuity. Honourable Jubril Abdul Kareem has been a gamechanger for Agege, and we believe he deserves a second term ticket. As the APC party prepares for its primaries, we urge all stakeholders to support his re-election bid.”
Giving reasons for the support for Hon Abdul Kareem’s re-election bid, the stakeholders said Honourable Jubril has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the people of Agege. He’s delivered on his promises, developing key infrastructure, improving education and healthcare services, and empowering youth and women. His experience as Chairman of Agege Local Government and in the State Assembly has equipped him with the skills to effectively represent Agege Constituency 02.
“We appeal to the leaders of the APC party in Agege, Lagos State and Nigeria, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to ensure justice is served and Honourable Jubril is allowed to continue serving the people of Agege Constituency 02. He has proven himself to be a worthy legislator.
“As Civil Society organisations, CDJ and ACOM are not partisan but we’re speaking for the people of Agege. Our presence here today is a testament to the will of the people of Agege 02. We echo the sentiments of the residents and indigenes of Agege. They want Jubril, and we’re here to amplify their voice. As the Yoruba saying goes, “a community that speaks with one voice is heard by the gods.”
“The people of Agege have spoken; it’s Jubril they want. Let’s make it happen. Injustice is not the way of APC patriots who identify with justice.
“The Orile Agege has produced two legislators for Agege 02, and none served for one term. Honourable Yinka Ogundimu served for three terms, Honourable Adejare served for two terms and moved to the Federal House of Representatives.

“Honourable Jubril Jubilation Abdul Kareem is from Agege. It will not be fair for the people of the Agege area of Agege Constituency not to be given a second term ticket. Honourable Jubril Abdul Kareem represents the Agege area of Constituency 02. Jubi represents Jubilation. Agege. Agege 02 wants jubilation and celebration to continue.”
The press conference was attended by General Secretary, Agege Community Movement (ACOM), Comrade Tola Folorunsho; Convener, Centre for Democracy and Justice (CDJ), Comrade Bello Kolawole; Member, Coalition Against Corruption and Bad Governance (CACOBAG), Comrade Tola Popoola and CACOBAG President, Comrade Toyin Raheem and others.
