Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary In Abia With Landslide Victory

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential primary election in Abia State after securing an overwhelming majority of votes across the state’s 17 local government areas.

The result was officially announced on Saturday at the APC Presidential Primary Election Collation Centre in Abia State by the State Collation Officer and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu.

According to the results declared, President Tinubu polled a total of 161,005 votes to defeat fellow aspirant, Stanley Osifo, who secured 1,007 votes in the exercise.

The primary election, which was conducted across the 17 local government areas of the state, witnessed massive participation by APC members and stakeholders.

Details of the official breakdown showed that Tinubu recorded dominant victories in all local government areas, posting some of his highest figures in Bende Local Government Area with 39,826 votes, Umuahia North with 14,943 votes, Isiala Ngwa North with 11,298 votes and Ikwuano with 8,902 votes.

Stanley Osifo’s strongest performance came from Isiala Ngwa North, where he garnered 181 votes. He also recorded 158 votes in Isiala Ngwa South and 116 votes in Umuahia North Local Government Area.

Announcing the outcome of the exercise, Kalu disclosed that Abia State had a total of 162,109 registered APC members eligible to participate in the presidential primary election.

He further stated that 162,084 party members were accredited for the exercise, while a total of 162,012 votes were cast during the election.

Kalu subsequently declared President Tinubu winner of the APC presidential primary in Abia State, having scored the highest number of valid votes cast in the exercise.

“Having satisfied the requirements of the party and scored the highest number of lawful votes cast, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is hereby declared winner of the APC presidential primary election in Abia State,” Kalu announced.

The declaration was greeted with jubilation by party supporters and stakeholders who gathered at the collation centre, as the exercise concluded peacefully without major incidents.

The victory further strengthens Tinubu’s position within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections as the party intensifies preparations nationwide.
