A member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, Gboyega Isiaka, has described President Bola Tinubu’s intending visit to Ogun State as a confirmation of the Federal Government’s dedication to sub-national development and national recovery.
Isiaka argued that Nigerians are witnessing improvements as a result of challenging but essential policy decisions, stressing that the President’s visit to Ogun State indicates rising confidence in the administration’s economic direction and reform plan.
The lawmaker who represents Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency, stated this in a statement issued by his media aide, Femi Peters, on Wednesday ahead of the President’s one day official visit to the state on Thursday.
He opined that the state’s longstanding role as a hub for businesses and industry makes it an ideal partner in the Federal Government’s economic restructuring initiative.
Isiaka asserted that the Ogun State government has consciously matched its development priorities with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, making sure that federal policies result in real possibilities for citizens.
He emphasised that improved livelihoods at the state and local levels ultimately reflect national growth, characterising the relationship between the Federal Government and Ogun State as one based on mutual respect and shared convictions.
“Mr. President, I count it a great privilege to receive you here today. Your visit brings joy to our people and reassurance to millions of Nigerians who have watched your administration work to restore stability to our nation.
“By God’s mercies, you have taken on the difficult task of rebuilding what years of neglect had damaged. The progress is visible. The hardworking people of this country can feel the difference.
“Ogun State has always been a place of industry and commerce. We understand what it takes to build. We know that real development comes through consistent effort, sound planning, and the courage to make hard decisions.
“Your administration’s focus on economic reform, infrastructure, and security aligns with what our state represents. Under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, we remain committed to supporting your Renewed Hope Agenda and translating federal policies into opportunities for our people,” he stated.
Isiaka added that the President’s visit creates new opportunities for cooperation, investment, and growth, expressing hope that the conversations held during the visit would result in tangible advantages for communities throughout the state.
