Entertainment Industry Revival Promised by Adeleke
Addressing the audience during the launch of the ‘The Most Popular Celebrity Award’ voting app in Osogbo, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, affirmed his administration’s commitment to rejuvenating the declining entertainment sector within the state.
Adeleke emphasized the importance of the entertainment industry as a key revenue-generating avenue for the state, hailing the contributions of notable figures such as the late Duro Ladipo, Karim Adepoju (Baba Wande), Yekini Ajileye, Oyin Adejobi, and Kola Ogunmola, among others in the sector.
He expressed his administration’s vision to revitalize the industry to enhance productivity, citing the achievements of various entertainers from Osun State who have garnered both national and international acclaim.
Reflecting on the past achievements of entertainers like Duro Ladipo, Karim Adepoju (Baba Wande), Yekini Ajileye, Oyin Adejobi, Kola Ogunmola, Prince Antar Laniyan, and Bolaji Amusan (Latin), Adeleke reiterated the state’s readiness to restore the fading glory of the entertainment industry.
He emphasized the potential of the entertainment industry to not only bring fame but also significant revenue to both the state and the nation at large.
A statement from the Information Officer of the Osun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Tobiloba Taiwo-Awofadeju, highlighted the commendations from the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Mr. Tope Omitogun, and the Project Coordinator of ‘The Most Popular Celebrity Awards,’ Mr. Solanke Hamzat, for Adeleke’s support towards the initiative.
