UNIPASS Launches Initiative To Attract Foreign Students Into Nigeria

A leading education group called UNIPASS has launched an initiative to attract foreign students to Nigeria by promoting the country as a hub for global education.

UNIPASS, with its over 25 years of providing education services, said it has a network of strategic alliances with reputable institutions in over 20 countries where it provides easy access to both Nigerians and foreigners to study.

Speaking at the launch of the initiative on Wednesday in Abuja, the CEO of UNIPASS Nigeria, Alvin Atsegwasin, stated that the organisation aims to provide opportunities for international students to study in Nigeria, leveraging the country’s growing education sector.

“We also promote opportunities for foreigners to come and study here in Nigeria. This is why we are proud to be the partners to some great institutions here in Nigeria like the Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management (IBUAM).

“We are proud to be partners with them because we are encouraging foreigners to come back to Nigeria, to our school here with us. We are actively encouraging global students to study in Nigeria,” he said.

Atsegwasin emphasised the importance of making global education accessible to Nigerian youth, stressing the organisation’s commitment to guiding students through the application process and ensuring they secure placements in reputable institutions worldwide.

“Empowering our youth today to pursue education and development without any barriers. Across Nigeria and Africa, millions of youth, people, dream of opportunities beyond their immediate environment.

“Yet, in chasing those dreams, they face so many different challenges along the way. From human trafficking to modern day slavery, risking their lives daily.

“We will work hand in hand with the Nigerian government and all stakeholders to create a safe, structural and transparent pathway for our youth.

“Our promise to parents, communities and our dear Nigeria is very simple. We will get you there, he stated.

He added, “We are committed to giving a first class service here in Nigeria, adding value to the nation and its growth and ecosystem. Because we believe education is not just about passion, it is about empowerment, opportunity and transformation. What services do we offer? We offer options, counselling and guidance.

“We support philanthropists and knowledgers who want to invest in education within our community. We will guide you the right way to do all of that.

“We also support scholarship programmes targeted at critical communities, including the WING scholarship, dedicated to supporting young women in STEM. Scholarships for people with disabilities and disabilities,” he said.

He encouraged Nigerian youth to return home and contribute to the country’s development, citing his own experience of pursuing education abroad and returning to make a difference.

Also speaking, Co-founder of UNIPASS Ltd, Sanpreet Sehmi, disclosed that the organisation’s mission is to provide opportunities for students to access quality education.

“We saw brilliant minds who simply needed guidance, support, and access. And it was that moment that UNIPASS was born,” Sehmi said.

She noted that the organisation ensures that every student, whether a top achiever or an average performer, has access to quality education.

Also speaking, the Executive Director of UNIPASS Ltd, Maureen Mutisya, outlined the organisation’s mission to guide students with clarity, integrity, and care from aspiration to admission.

She noted that UNIPASS’s services include course and career counseling, assessment and evaluation, university and college application guidance, visa application support, accommodation, flight booking, and pre-departure orientation.

Mutisya stated that the organisation has helped over 1,200 students receive offers from world-class institutions across seven continents.
