Yusuf-Garo partnership to usher stability in Kano — APC Forum

A political pressure group within the All Progressives Congress, APC, the Emerging Progressives Leaders’ Forum, EPLF, has applauded Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf over what it described as a bold and strategic decision in selecting Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor.

Garo previously served as Commissioner for Local Government Affairs in Kano State.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Hafiz Idris, the group said the appointment demonstrates a clear understanding of Kano’s political dynamics and the need for experienced leadership to stabilise and strengthen governance.

The forum highlighted Garo’s track record in public service, citing his administrative experience, loyalty to party ideals, and capacity to deliver results. It described him as a tested and dependable leader whose contributions to the growth of the APC in Kano remain noteworthy.

According to the group, Garo’s emergence is expected to act as a unifying force within the party by bridging internal divides and promoting cohesion among stakeholders ahead of future political activities.

“Hon. Murtala Sule Garo is a grassroots politician with vast experience and a deep connection with the people. His choice will not only consolidate governance but also reposition the APC for greater strength and unity in Kano State,” the statement read.

The group urged party members to rally behind the new deputy governor, stressing that collective support is essential for sustaining progress and achieving shared political objectives.

It also expressed confidence that the Yusuf-Garo partnership would usher in a new phase of stability, inclusiveness, and effective leadership in the state.
