2 Restaurant Staff Arraigned In Lagos Over Alleged N659,000 Theft

Two employees of Cravings and More Restaurant have been arraigned before a Lagos Court sitting in Ejigbo over allegations of conspiracy and theft at their workplace in Egbeda area of Lagos State, according to a charge sheet obtained by http://newsngr.com.
The charge sheet, marked Charge No. /1091/2026, lists the Commissioner of Police as complainant against Taiwo Musliudeen, 22, and Sunday Judge, 33. Both defendants were arraigned on charges relating to an incident alleged to have occurred on June 4, 2026.
According to the document, the alleged incident took place at about 3:00pm at Cravings and More Restaurant, Egbeda, within the Lagos State Magisterial District. The charge sheet stated that the two defendants allegedly conspired among themselves to commit felony.
Count One of the charge sheet alleged that Taiwo Musliudeen and Sunday Judge conspired to steal from their place of work. The offence is said to be contrary to Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015, and punishable under the same law.
Count Two specifically accused Taiwo Musliudeen, female, of stealing the sum of N500,000 from the company box at Craving and More Restaurant on the same date and time. The charge sheet stated this offence is contrary to Section 287 (9)(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
Count Three of the document alleged that Sunday Judge, male, stole 3 cartons of chicken valued at N159,000 from the same restaurant. The charge sheet also cited Section 287 (9)(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 as the law allegedly violated.
The total value of items allegedly stolen, according to the charge sheet, amounted to N659,000. The document indicated the alleged theft occurred at the defendants’ workplace.
The charge sheet showed the arraignment date as June 16, 2026. It listed CSP Oni Waheed as the Police officer and Simon Njue as prosecutor in the matter.
According to the document, the defendants entered a plea of “Not Guilty” before the court.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Miss F.R. Ogunkoyede, granted the first defendant  bail in the sum of N50,000 with sureties, while the second defendant was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with sureties, plus an additional N50,000 bond.
The case was adjourned till July 17, 2026 for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the Correctional Center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
The investigating Police officer listed on the charge sheet is Inspector Toyin Olaoluwa, attached to Idimu Police Station, DCB Section.
All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction. Efforts to reach Cravings and More Restaurant for comment were ongoing at press time. This report is based solely on allegations contained in the charge sheet.
