2024 Direct Entry Registration Extension by JAMB
The registration period for Direct Entry has been extended by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB. This decision was communicated by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor of the board, on Thursday.
JAMB, in its commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian student has equal opportunities for quality higher education, has chosen to postpone the closure of Direct Entry registration to a later date.
The initial registration period for the 2024 Direct Entry was scheduled from February 28 to March 28. However, the board has now prolonged the registration window by an additional two weeks, setting the new closing date to April 11, citing various factors.
“There has been a notable increase in registration activity, particularly in Lagos, as candidates rush to beat the registration deadline. We urge all candidates who are yet to register for the Direct Entry to stay calm, as the registration deadline has been further extended,” Benjamin remarked.
The ongoing UTME in examination centers nationwide is also a contributing factor to this extension. JAMB’s primary objective is to ensure that no Nigerian student who aspires for quality education is disadvantaged. A new deadline for this year’s Direct Entry registration will be announced soon, and candidates are advised to register at their earliest convenience,” Benjamin assured.
