Commitment of Ekiti Govt to Welfare of PWDs Emphasized
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, has restated Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration’s dedication to the welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the state.
During a gathering in Ado Ekiti, Olatunbosun urged individuals and corporate entities interested in supporting the state government’s efforts to enhance the lives of all stakeholders, especially PWDs, rather than fueling discord.
He highlighted that earlier this year, the state government initiated a healthcare program that grants free healthcare services to PWDs across the state. The program, a collaboration between the Office of Special Education and Social Inclusion and the State Ministry of Health, aims to provide free healthcare services to all disabled individuals in government healthcare facilities.
Emphasizing the government’s campaign to raise awareness about the program, Olatunbosun mentioned that it was extensively publicized.
Individuals with disabilities in the state are required to enroll with the Ministry of Health, providing their National Identification Number (NIN) and a passport photograph to take advantage of the program, according to him.
