NSCDC in Anambra Seeks Enhanced Collaboration with Nigerian Army for Securing Critical National Assets
In Anambra State, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has requested increased support from the Nigerian Army to safeguard critical national assets within the state.
During a visit to Col. Mohammed Abubakar, Commander of the 302 Artillery Regiment Nigerian Army in Onitsha, NSCDC Commandant Olatunde Maku emphasized the importance of their partnership in protecting vital infrastructures.
Maku expressed gratitude for the current cooperation with the Army, highlighting their joint efforts in various operations, including combating illegal activities such as oil bunkering, pipeline vandalism, and illicit petroleum trade.
Emphasizing the significance of inter-agency collaboration, Maku noted that working together would significantly contribute to eliminating practices that impede economic growth.
In response, Abubakar commended Maku for the visit and pledged enhanced support and cooperation to advance the shared interests of both agencies and the nation as a whole.
He stressed the necessity of collective action in addressing security challenges and affirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to assisting NSCDC in fulfilling its mandate in Anambra.
Abubakar underscored the importance of a united front against criminal elements and urged continuous collaborative efforts to enhance operational effectiveness in maintaining national security.
Highlighting the common goal of ensuring national security, the regiment commander emphasized the equal importance of each agency’s role in achieving this objective.
