Emir Sulu-Gambari to be installed as Pioneer Chancellor of Muhammad Kamalud-deen University May 11.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Emir’s spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on Thursday.
The event will hold at the University premises along Ogidi-Oloje area during the maiden matriculation ceremony of the first set of students of the institution.
The statement reads: “His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, a retired Justice of the Court of Appeal and 11th Emir of Ilorin will be formally installed as the 1st Chancellor of Muhammad Kamalud-deen University, Ilorin, on Saturday 11th May 2024.
“The monarch had before now served as the Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State and Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State and was recently redeployed to Bayero University Kano by the federal government.
“Alhaji Sulu-Gambari has over the years, demonstrated tremendous interest in the growth and development of education, morality and social values in the Ilorin Emirate and beyond since his enthronement.”
The statement therefore urged sons and daughters of Ilorin Emirate and beyond to be part of the historic event.
