2027: David Mark Reacts to Peter Obi and Kwankwaso’s Defection to NDC

The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, David Mark, has reacted to the defection of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from the party.

Speaking during a meeting with members of the Forum of ADC Former and Serving Federal Lawmakers in Abuja on Wednesday, Mark said the departure of the two political figures would only push the party to intensify its efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.

Although he admitted that their exit would have an impact on the party, the former Senate President assured Nigerians that the ADC would field credible and capable candidates who can secure victory in the next general election.

Mark expressed confidence that the challenges currently confronting the party would eventually strengthen its determination and position it for success at the polls.

“There is no doubt that the exit of Obi and Kwankwaso will have an effect, but it will also motivate us to work harder,” he stated.

According to reports, Obi and Kwankwaso on Sunday left the ADC for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, citing lingering court cases and internal divisions within the party.
