2027: Sale Of Gateway Hotels To Adebutus Good — Shogunle, Adebutu’s Campaign DG

The Director General of Hon. Ladi Adebutu’s PDP Governorship Campaign Organisation, Mr. Kehinde Shogunle, has defended the sale of Ogun State’s Gateway Hotels to the family of Hon. Adebutu, describing it as a good investment.
The former Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State under the administration of Otunba Gbenga Daniel said the sale of the hotel to private interest, a commonwealth of Ogun State, is not a big deal in the state’s development.
Shogunle stated this during a radio programme on Rock City FM 101.9 in Abeokuta.
“The thing went through a process and at that point in time the person that happens to bring in most resources and network to revive Gateway Hotels was Chief Adebutu,” he said.
He said the sale was done transparently and in the best interest of the state by the OGD administration, stressing that the Ogun State hotel is not a big issue and that he supported the sale.
It will be recalled that Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello was one of the General Managers of the then Gateway Hotels that was run aground to justify the argument for its sale to private interests.
The Gateway Hotels in Abeokuta, Ota and Ijebu-Ode were legacy projects of the Olabisi Onabanjo administration that employed many indigenes of Ogun State before they were sold/leased to private interests, with Gateway Hotel, Abeokuta now Park Inn Hotel under the control of the Adebutus.
