The former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, who is also known as Udochia in Igbo land and Chairman of the Father’s Burial Fundraising Committee of Chief Linus Okorie, has commended Chief Ifeanyi Odii for his support towards the burial of Chief Okorie’s father scheduled for July 31st, 2026.
Chief Aguene said Chief Odii’s involvement has brought comfort to the bereaved family and to Ebonyi people both at home and in the diaspora. He described the gesture as a demonstration of unity and leadership.
According to him, Chief Odii has once again shown that he remains a committed son of Ebonyi State. The support reflects Chief Odii’s commitment to standing with his people in times of joy and in times of mourning.
Chief Aguene recalled that he had earlier called on all sons and daughters of Ebonyi State to unite for the progress and development of the state. He added that Chief Odii’s response through this act of solidarity is a clear example of leadership by example.
He explained that supporting burial rites is a deeply respected tradition in Igbo culture. By identifying with Chief Okorie’s family, Chief Odii has reinforced the values of community, respect for elders, and collective responsibility.
The former Ohanaeze leader recalled Chief Odii’s record of service to Ebonyi people over the years. He said Chief Odii has consistently shown concern for the welfare of Ndigbo, both in Lagos and back home.
Chief Aguene noted that such gestures help to strengthen bonds among Ebonyi indigenes and encourage more people to take part in community development. He said acts of solidarity like this remain visible proof of purposeful leadership.
He added that leaders must continue to prioritize the wellbeing of their people, irrespective of political or business affiliations. According to Aguene, this consistency in support shows that Chief Odii’s concern for Ebonyi goes beyond personal interest and is about the dignity and unity of the people.
Chief Aguene urged other leaders and stakeholders from Ebonyi State to emulate the spirit of unity being demonstrated. He said collective support for one another will help the state achieve more progress.
He also called on Ebonyi indigenes to put aside differences and work together for peace, development, and the good name of the state. Unity, he stressed, remains the strongest foundation for growth.
Chief Aguene said the people of Ebonyi State should pray for Chief Ifeanyi Odii to accept to run for Governorship election, stating that Ebonyi people will go to their various churches for thanksgiving.
In conclusion, Chief Aguene prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of Chief Okorie’s father and for God’s strength for the family during this period. He expressed confidence that Chief Odii’s continued acts of solidarity will inspire more leaders across Ebonyi State.
