The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has congratulated children across Edo State and Nigeria on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, reaffirming the commitment of the Edo State Government to nurturing young talents and creating opportunities for future champions.
In a statement issued through his Media Aide, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele described children as the pride, hope, and future of the nation, stressing that investment in their development remains one of the greatest responsibilities of leadership.
According to him, this year’s Children’s Day celebration is particularly significant as it coincides with the successful conclusion of the 2026 “Discovering Tomorrow’s Stars” Grassroots Talent Hunt Programme at the iconic Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
He noted that the initiative was designed to identify hidden talents from schools and communities across Edo State while providing young athletes with platforms to develop their skills and pursue excellence through sports.
“Today is not just about celebrating our children but about preparing them for greatness. Every child carries a dream, a talent, and the potential to become a champion if given the right guidance and opportunity,” Enabulele stated.
The Sports Commission boss said the programme aligns with the vision of Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, particularly the administration’s “Catch Them Young” policy under the SHINE Agenda.
He encouraged children across the state to remain disciplined, hardworking, focused, and committed to their education and talents, noting that many global sports stars and successful leaders started from humble beginnings.
Enabulele further commended parents, teachers and coaches for their continuous support towards children’s sports development in the state.
“As we celebrate Children’s Day, let us continue to inspire our young people, support their dreams, and create opportunities that will help them succeed in life. Edo State remains committed to building a future where every child can thrive,” he added.
Enabulele wished all children a joyful, peaceful, and memorable Children’s Day celebration while urging them to continue believing in themselves and striving for excellence.
