Ex-Kano deputy governor, Nasiru Gawuna, dumps ADC, joins NDC

A former deputy governor of Kano, Nasiru Gawuna, has defected from African Democratic Congress, ADC, to Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

A statement signed by the former deputy governor’s aide, Mansur Isa Gawuna, said Mr Gawuna defected to NDC on Monday with a multitude of his supporters across the 44 local government area of the state.

In the resignation letter, Mr Gawuna said he resigned from ADC due to internal crisis and litigations that destabilised the party.

“I, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, hereby formally tender my resignation as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effective immediately.

“My decision is necessitated by the persistent litigation crises affecting the internal affairs of the party, which have undermined my ability to continue as a member in good faith. I thank the party for the opportunities afforded to me,” Mr Gawuna added.

Mr Gawuna dumped the ruling APC on March 30 and joined the ADC a few days later.
