Fayemi Seeks Support For Oyebanji’s Govt

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has called on all residents of the state, regardless of political, ethnic or religious differences, to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji as he begins a new term in office.

Fayemi congratulated Oyebanji on his re-election, describing the outcome of the governorship election as a clear endorsement of his administration’s performance by the people of Ekiti State. He said the result reflects the confidence voters have in Oyebanji’s leadership.

In a statement issued through the Fayemi Media Office, he noted that the election outcome was a strong vote of trust in purposeful governance and a reflection of the administration’s impact on the state.

“I join other well-meaning Ekiti citizens and friends of our dear state in congratulating Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his decisive re-election. This victory is a powerful statement by our people that they recognise and appreciate purposeful governance,” Fayemi said.

He also commended voters for conducting themselves peacefully during the election, stressing that civic responsibility was properly exercised.

Fayemi urged other contestants in the election to accept the outcome in good faith and work with the governor to develop the state.

“Elections are contests, not wars. I urge the other candidates who contested this election to take the lessons from it in good faith and join hands with Governor Oyebanji in the task of building our state,” he said.

He added that Ekiti State’s progress depends on unity and cooperation beyond party lines, noting that the state has always performed better when political differences are set aside for the common good.

Fayemi further called on Ekiti sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to continue supporting Oyebanji’s administration in order to sustain good governance and development across the state.
